Newsletter Issue 2

Our brand new Fit4Growth programme features boxercise and multisport blended with mentoring.

Teaching the discipline of boxercise alongside multisports, in this fun and highly energetic programme, our facilitators help the children to build on their self-esteem, self-discipline and determination to improve and succeed! The sessions involve a 20-minute talk-shop encouraging participants to identify areas in their attitudes and beliefs which are holding them back and activities to help build these core skills. This is followed by a 40-minute focus on sports to put their attitudes and belief into practice. Sessions end with a 20-minute wind down, reflecting on their achievements and working with students to support a healthy growth-mindset!

Youth Voice

Youth Voice Forum at Kingsmead Secondary School. It has been brilliant to have hundreds of conversations with young people who want to make a difference in their communities by discussing issues which affect young people. We’ve worked in partnership with the KFC Youth Foundation to ensure young people can vocalise where funding should be awarded for youth services. We are looking forward to working with more than thirty newly interested advocates in Yrs 10-13, several of whom told us they still remember the impact Success Club had on them in their primary school days!

Winter HAF What a great way to start 2024!

Every morning our winter HAF warmly welcomed more than 60 children through its doors. The atmosphere was buzzing with joy and excitement as children engaged in a plethora of activities, including: arts and crafts, mindfulness exercises, multisports and boxercise sessions, dance lessons, and drama. In our commitment to providing the finest dining experience for the children, we had our fantastic in-house chef, Paulette, crafting delicious meals that were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Daniel Sinyinza 2022/2023

Luke is fundraising for his cousin Dan. On 18th May this year, Luke is taking on the Jurassic Coast 100km Ultra marathon! In January last year, Dan slipped in the kitchen and broke his leg. After some time in hospital, it was discovered that Dan had cancer. His diagnosis came on the 3rd of March 2023. Just 58 days later, while Dan was at home surrounded by those he loved most, he passed away. He was just 26 years old. Dan was a brilliant man; he always cared so much about everyone around him. He loved his family. He was wickedly funny and wasn’t afraid of any challenge. In life, Dan always sought to help others and Success Club was a charity he was planning to get involved with.
