I’m not religious but I’m definitely spiritual. The belief that a greater good is out there is very strong within me and I believe that we, you and I, are that greater good. It doesn’t matter which ‘Higher Self’ you believe in but in my humble opinion, we can become that higher self.
I couldn’t do the job I do if I did not believe that people can change and within that change find tremendous learning and insight. I came across this poem and felt it embodies all I want to see in me and in others.
Enjoy and remember these words whenever you can, for there is strength within them.
The Peace Prayer
by St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
