Our Impact

Methodology

For every programme that Success Club runs, we collect both quantitative and qualitative data that is mapped to the key objectives of that particular programme.

We collect information from our key stakeholders in the last two weeks of the programme.

Students themselves:

Each is asked to complete an 8-10 question questionnaire. They are also asked for comments under each question as well as a final space for general feedback on how the course went.

Teachers of the class or those responsible for them eg. Head of Year or SENCO:

  • Relevant data about the students before and after the programme e.g attendance/attainment/behaviour records/records of exclusions.
  • Interview style questions to be answered about the group with individuals mentioned if relevant/pertinent.

Success Club Facilitators:

Submit weekly session plans and complete a case study, detailing the participation and engagement every week of one identified student on that programme. They also capture relevant photographic or video evidence.

Online Feedback Forms:

Parents are invited to complete online feedback forms via our website.

The 6 pillars

Our evaluation system is built on 6 core success skills that form the basis of our in-school programmes. These core skills have been identified by our stakeholders as being fundamental to wellbeing and success in school and beyond.

Attitude to learning

An excellent attitude to learning features a commitment to self-improvement. Students focus on improving their own learning ability rather than simply completing a task or project – it’s about constantly striving to improve and learn as much as they possibly can, recognising that not all children have access to the privilege of education.

Resilience

A persistence to keep going and keep trying despite setbacks and failure. The ability to bounce back from mistakes or negative experiences, learn from them and move onwards and upwards to even greater success.

Leadership

Effective leadership is defined as actions being taken for the good of the whole community rather than for the minority or worse, for themselves. An effective leader listens carefully to individuals and identifies the strengths and strategies that can be used to benefit the group as a whole.

Communication

The ability to listen carefully to and discuss a range of ideas and issues in a clear and considered way, using an effective and varied vocabulary and showing respect for others’ viewpoints.

Reflection

Reflection is the deliberate act of contemplating one’s actions and experiences. It involves actively considering what was done, what occurred, and determining how one can approach similar situations differently in the future. This process goes beyond casual thinking, encouraging individuals, especially children and young people, to learn from their reflections and make it a daily practice to ponder on events and ideas.

Growth mindset

This really is the lynch pin that binds all our core skills together and works on the fundamental belief that with practice and determination you can learn and be better in the next second than you were in the last. Students who have mastered this key skill, understand that mistakes are simply learning and that they can always succeed and develop new skills simply by believing they can.
