Success Club run carefully structured, engaging enrichment programmes. that are facilitated by highly professional coaches who are DBS checked and safeguarding trained. Programmes include:
The workshops consist of discussion groups, fun interactive team games, growth-mindset workshops, target setting, self-reflection and storytelling.
All the work is underpinned by introducing the young people to a variety of everyday mindfulness exercises and skills that can be used habitually..
In response to the current situation, we are looking at new and innovative ways to continue delivering our bespoke, and often vital, programmes. Using various schools' online platforms, we have been supporting our students, their parents and teachers with live meditations and personal development support at this extremely challenging time. Despite not being physically in school, we are all able to continue to develop our personal and inter-personal skills, practise our mindfulness and ensure we continue to strive to be the best version of ourselves, we can be.
The Covid-19 pandemic has turned the lives of millions of young people upside down and put a huge strain on their mental and emotional wellbeing. Apart from the obvious disruption of their education, they have reported difficulties coping with isolation, lack of routine at home, difficulties sleeping, increased attachment to parents/carers, increased addiction/comfort from video games, struggling with depression, fear, anger, confusion, anxiety about the future and concerns over family members becoming ill. In some cases, young people have faced difficult or traumatic experiences e.g. the loss of a parent or family member.
In September, Success Club will be offering their 'BounceBack' programme. Schools will be asked to identify 15 children in years 5 & 6 deemed to be the most affected by Covid-19 to take part in 10 weekly, after-school sessions. Activities will include age-appropriate mindfulness, guided meditations, team games that build friendships and peer support, therapeutic creative activities such as, art, writing poetry, songs and stories and drama workshops to practice coping strategies so young people can self-manage their own wellbeing.
Sessions will be delivered by expert facilitators who are well versed in trauma informed practice.
By aiding the re-building process of relationships with teachers, peers and the rest of their community after such a long gap, we believe that BounceBack will make a positive and lasting difference to children: giving them coping mechanisms that improve their social and emotional wellbeing whilst strengthening their ability to cope with these difficult times.
* All sessions are subject to recognised social distancing rules and regulations.
As the lockdown is beginning to lift and some sense of normality is coming back and although we've maintained some sort of contact through various other online platforms, we have not been able to go into schools and do our whole class or 1:1 face to face work.
YR6 students, some that we've coached since YR5 are going off to their new schools in September, so we have put together a little farewell powerpoint presentation that you can access under our Free Online Lessons page on the downloads.
Success Club would like to wish all of you the very best of luck and hope that you keep on strengthening your emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Remember to be better in the next second than you were in the last and that it costs nothing to be kind.
